As the founder and managing partner of SVM Business Advisory, Maarten de Jeu draws on his two decades of experience to provide international strategy and analytics to middle market and Fortune 500 firms. Also a civic leader, Maarten de Jeu supports the Monday Meal Mitzvah program at Chicago’s Temple Sholom, one of the many organizations dedicated to helping the city’s homeless and underserved populations.
-Temple Sholom’s Monday Meal. Founded in 2004, the program has served over 15,000 meals. Sponsored by private donations, the program is staffed with volunteers who plan, cook, and serve the hot, plated meals in a dining room setting to reach the Lakeview homeless community.
-Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. For more than 30 years, Chicago Coalition for the Homeless has worked to curb and eliminate homelessness in the community. Through private funding, it provides housing and improves services for city’s residents who are most in need. It also awards $2,000 college scholarships to students who experienced homelessness during their high school years.
-The Catholic Charities. Between its own programs and those it cosponsors with city, county, and state services, the Catholic Charities helps those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The organization also helps refer people to possible permanent supportive housing opportunities.
